Personal Care Services

Q. How is personal care different from home health services?

A. Personal care services provides non-medical care services as an additional hands-on support needed to relieve daily life challenges and restore the quality of life of those who need it. It provides support, companionship and supervision to ensure the patient's safety and welfare. Our caregivers are not licensed medical personnel and does not provide any skilled services. Home health service provides skilled services such as Skilled Nursing, therapy services, social work services and aide services for specific duties as described in home health's plan of care. Home health services is 100% covered under Medicare and some coverage under other insurance. A patient can have home health services and personal care services at the same time.

Q. What type of personal care services do you provide?

A. We provide non-skilled services which include but not limited to providing personal care and assistance, meal preparation/ diet planning, assistance with medications, transportation and errands, companionship and recreations, light housekeeping and domestic duties. We also provide respite care for families who need temporary relief in caring for their loved ones and a la carte services. Q. How are you different from the other personal care providers?

A. We have been in the healthcare industry for over a decade, one of the owners is a nurse and the other partner is an experienced elder care advocate. We see first-hand and understand the difficulties that a family faces when daily activities and personal tasks become challenging for a loved one to complete on their own as a result of an injury, medical condition or the aging process. We check caregiver’s competency for skills and we provide a personalized plan of care for each of our patients. We provide a FREE in-home assessment and conduct monthly calls and a quarterly supervisory visits to ensure that our patients only receive the best care possible.

Q. What is the cost of personal care services?

A. Each patient is different. Rate varies depending on the patient’s care needs/ level of acuity and is determined after assessment is done. Our goal is to provide patients and families a quality and affordable care alternative and assist in giving additional hands-on care to restore quality of life to those we serve. Q. What type of payment do you accept?

A. We currently don’t take any type of insurance. We are PRIVATE PAY ONLY. Payments can be made by check, credit card or money order.

Q. Do I need to sign an agreement to start service?

A. Yes, a service agreement or contract is required before starting a personal care service with Carelinks and it needs to be signed by both patient/ POA and a Carelinks authorized representative.

Q. Is there a minimum number of hours required for personal care services?

A. We have a 2-hour per day and 4-hour per week minimum. We provide 24-hour care or live-in services. We also provide a la carte services to cater you needs and a 24/7 oncall assistance including weekends and holidays. Please call us today for more information.

Q. Do you match your caregivers to your patients?

A. We try to match our patients and caregivers as best as we could. Our team of screened, trained and dependable caregivers provide compassionate, confidential care and assistance in a way that respects your loved one's dignity and well-being that we can confidently assign them to a patient and know that they will be given the care that they need. We strive to foster meaningful relationships with each client so that they can remain independent while looking and feeling their best.

Q. Do you offer to take patients to doctor’s appointments?

A. We do take patients to scheduled doctor’s appointments if needed as indicated and agreed upon on the service agreement.

Q. Will you provide any supplies?

A. All supplies will be provided by the family including incontinence supplies, grooming/ bathing items, cleaning supplies and food.

Q. What are your office hours?

A. Regular office hours are Monday to Friday 8 am – 5 pm. We have a 24/7 hotline including weekends and holidays for any urgent matters and assistance, all other general inquiry will be returned within 24-28 hours.
